New Features - Release v0.6.0, Posted May 20, 2008.
- Twitter Integration - This release introduces Twitter functionality into Yakkle. What's Twitter? Get an account and read
about this exciting new technology at www.twitter.com. With Twitter functions built into Yakkle, not only will you get user
Contact messages when someone comes online or offline, and Email messages from your GMail account, but you will also get Twitter
status notifications (sometimes called Tweets). You can generate your own Tweets out to the Twitter user community directly from
within Yakkle, reply to others, follow other Twitter users, and on and on.
- More Emoticons are here: Send an Exclamation Point, a Question mark, even the Yakkle icon. When instant messaging with someone,
you will now see an emoticon smiley face in the chat area. Click on this face and you will see all the different emoticons that we currently
support. Pick any of these and they'll be sent along with your text to the person you are chatting with. We automatically
convert the icon into text so that if you happen to be chatting with someone not using Yakkle, they will still be able to see
your emoticon.
- Do you run Yakkle and set up your favorite size and location on the screen for where Yakkle fits best on your desktop? Starting
with this release, we will now automatically remember your settings and bring back Yakkle the way you want it.
- In our last release, we introduced a Yakkle tray icon with some features tied to it. We've added more features to the tray now as well.
Right mouse click on it and you'll see that you can edit your audio settings or add a new contact directly from the tray.
- New Releases: If you start Yakkle and we have a new release for you to install, we will automatically notify you of this.
You can click on the "What's New?" button to instantly see what we've changed in the new release so that you can download and use it.
